Green waste drop-off in LA and Orange County

Branches, brush and clippings: who takes a truckload

The short answer

For a truckload of branches, brush or clippings, several LA County transfer stations and landfills take green waste from the public, and Huntington Beach's transfer station does in Orange County. Rates and rules differ by site, so check before you go.

Only clean dirt gets the dirt rate here. Dirt mixed with trash or debris is charged as trash; we've paid about $105 a ton for that. That's what we paid, not the posted fee: call the landfill to confirm current rates.

Expect a 30-minute to 1-hour wait depending on the time of day. 12 to 2 PM is usually the busiest.
