Is e-waste drop-off free?

At the county sites on this page, yes for residents: LA's S.A.F.E. Centers for City of LA and LA County residents, and Orange County's HHW centers for OC residents. Sunshine Canyon Landfill charges per computer or monitor.

E-Waste Drop-Off in LA & Orange County

The short answer

Most public e-waste drop-offs in LA and Orange County are the same sites that take household hazardous waste. LA's S.A.F.E. Centers and Orange County's four HHW centers take TVs, computers and phones from residents for free, and LA County runs one-day e-waste roundups. Many cities also hold their own e-waste days.

In Los Angeles County

These sites list electronics as accepted. Check each one's hours: most S.A.F.E. Centers open on weekends only, and Burbank's center doesn't take electronics on Saturdays.
