The short answer
Most of East LA is in LA County's Belvedere Garbage Disposal District, where Valley Vista Services collects bulky items, green waste, appliances and e-waste once a week on request at no charge. Quantities are unlimited, and the cost is in the district assessment on your property tax bill. Call Valley Vista to schedule.

When the city pickup doesn’t fit
The program works when the items are at the curb and can wait for the pickup day. If they're still inside, upstairs or in the backyard, you're over the limit, or you need them gone sooner, we carry them out and haul them away. Pricing starts at $190; see junk removal in East Los Angeles or single-item pickup.
