The short answer
With a dumpster rental, a bin is dropped off, you load it yourself, and it's hauled away when you're done. With junk removal, a crew comes once, carries everything out from wherever it sits, loads it and cleans up. Roa Solution Junk Removal does junk removal only. We don't rent dumpsters.

First: we don't rent dumpsters
Roa Solution Junk Removal is a junk removal company. We don't rent bins, so we're not going to tell you a bin is always the wrong choice. Sometimes it's the right one, and this page says when.
We also won't quote other companies' prices. What we can tell you is how our side works and what to ask a bin company before you book.
The main differences
The big difference is who does the work. A bin gives you a place to put junk. A junk removal crew does the carrying, loading and cleanup.
| Dumpster rental | Junk removal (what we do) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who loads it | You do | Our crew carries it out and loads it |
| Where the junk has to be | In the bin, so you carry it there | Anywhere: inside, upstairs, the garage or the yard |
| How long it takes | The bin stays on site while you fill it | One visit, same-day or next-day depending on availability |
| Where it sits | Your driveway or the street, depending on your property and local rules | Our truck and trailer park for the job and leave |
| What sets the price | Set by the rental company; ask what's included | Truck space, type of material, weight, access and labor; starts at $190 |
| Cleanup | Yours | Loading, hauling and cleanup are included |
| Hazardous waste | Ask the company what it won't take | We don't take paint, chemicals, solvents, asbestos, medical waste or propane tanks |
When a bin can make more sense
A bin can fit when the junk comes out slowly, over days or weeks. Think of a remodel where you tear out one room at a time and want somewhere to put the debris as you go.
It can also fit when you have people to do the loading and you're fine with a bin sitting on the driveway for the rental period. If that's you, get a few quotes and read what's included.
When junk removal makes more sense
Junk removal is built for a pile that already exists and needs to go.
- The junk is already there and you want it gone in one visit.
- It's inside, upstairs or in the backyard, and you don't want to carry it.
- You don't have room for a bin, or it would block the driveway.
- It's a mix: furniture, appliances, bags and a few heavy items.
- You need it gone today or tomorrow.
- You want someone else to sweep up after.
What to ask before you book either one
Ask a bin company and a junk removal company the same questions, then compare.
If a bin would go on the street, check with your city before it's delivered.
- What sets the price, and what would change it on the day?
- Is that an estimate or a fixed number?
- What won't you take?
- Who loads it, and from where?
- Is cleanup included?
Heavy material: same problem either way
Concrete, dirt, brick, tile and roofing are heavy whether they go in a bin or a truck. On our side they're priced by weight as well as space, so send photos for an estimate.
On permitted projects, debris rules can apply no matter how it leaves. Pasadena requires certain permitted projects, including all demolitions and residential remodels valued at $20,000 or more, to divert at least 75% of construction and demolition waste, tracked in Green Halo. Whoever holds the permit handles that paperwork.

How junk removal works with us
Text photos of what needs to go and your city to (562) 219-9266. We text back an estimate. Pricing starts at $190 and depends on truck space, type of material, weight, access and labor. We never guarantee a final total over the phone.
Your quote covers what's in your photos; if more items are added on pickup day, the price is adjusted for them. When it makes sense, the crew breaks bulky items down so they take less room in the truck.
