The short answer
Mattress removal with Roa Solution Junk Removal starts at $190, the same minimum as any pickup, and the crew carries it out from the bedroom. If it's one mattress you can move yourself, a free option may cost less: store take-back, a Bye Bye Mattress drop-off or your city's bulky pickup. For a mattress plus a frame and other furniture, one pickup clears it all.

What sets the price
A mattress is light for its size, so truck space and the carry matter more than weight.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How many | One mattress and box spring, or several beds from a move-out. |
| Size | A king and its box spring take more space than a twin. |
| Bed frame and headboard | Frames come apart and pack flat, which saves truck space. |
| Where it is | An upstairs bedroom, a tight hallway, a garage or a storage space. |
| Parking and the walk | How far the truck parks from the door. |
| Other items | Dressers, nightstands and anything else going in the same trip. |

The free options, and when they fit
Free is free, and we won't pretend otherwise. If you can move the mattress and wait, check these first.
A hauler makes sense when the mattress is upstairs, you need it gone soon, there's more than one, or it's part of a bigger furniture pickup.
- Store take-back: California law requires a retailer that delivers a new mattress to offer to take the old one at no additional cost.
- Bye Bye Mattress: more than 230 free drop-off locations across California. Republic's Huntington Beach transfer station takes two mattresses free per visit on its Jan 1, 2025 rate sheet.
- City bulky pickup: Pasadena single-family homes get two free pickups a year, and the City of Los Angeles offers unlimited free curbside bulky pickup for homes on city service.
- Wrapping rules: Santa Clarita requires mattresses wrapped in plastic for bulky pickup, and Long Beach asks that nothing be on top.

Don't leave it on the curb
A mattress left out without a scheduled pickup is illegal dumping. LA County Public Works notes that California Penal Code 374.3 makes it punishable by a fine of up to $10,000. Book the city pickup first, or have it hauled.

What to send in your photos
One or two photos usually do it.
Text them to (562) 219-9266. We text back an estimate. Your quote covers what's in your photos; if more items are added on pickup day, the price is adjusted for them.
- The mattress and box spring, with the size if you know it
- The bed frame and headboard, if they're going too
- The path out: stairs, hallways and doorways
- Where the truck can park
- Anything else you want gone in the same trip
How the pickup works
The crew comes inside and carries it out, so you don't move anything. Same-day or next-day pickup depends on availability.
If it's just one mattress, compare our price with the free options above. If it's a mattress plus a frame, a dresser and a few other things, one pickup clears it all.
