The short answer
A garage cleanout with Roa Solution Junk Removal starts at $190. The price depends on how full the garage is, what's in it, how heavy it is, and the labor, including shelving or workbenches that come down. A garage that opens onto the driveway is about as easy as access gets, which helps. Text photos for an estimate; we never give a guaranteed total over the phone.

What sets the price
Garages hold a bit of everything, so all five pricing factors come into play: truck space, type of material, weight, access and labor.
| Factor | What it means in a garage |
|---|---|
| How full | A few items by the door, half the garage, or floor to ceiling. |
| Heavy items | Fridges, freezers, exercise equipment, tool chests and boxes of books add weight. |
| Shelving and workbenches | Taking down and breaking up built-ins adds labor. |
| Mixed materials | Old lumber, tile or leftover remodel material loads differently from boxes. |
| Access | A roll-up door on the driveway, or a detached garage down a long side yard or alley. |
| What stays | Sorting around things you're keeping takes time, so set them aside first. |

Pull out what we can't take
Garages collect paint, motor oil, pool chemicals, pesticides and propane tanks. We don't handle hazardous waste: paint, chemicals, solvents, asbestos, medical waste or propane tanks.
Set them aside for your county program. The Los Angeles-Glendale S.A.F.E. Center takes household hazardous waste free from City of LA and LA County residents, up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds a visit. Orange County's household hazardous waste centers are free for county residents, with the same limit per trip.

Ways to keep the price down
Most of a garage price is volume, so anything that leaves first is space you don't pay for.
- Decide what stays before the crew arrives and move it to one side.
- Flatten boxes.
- Sell or give away good tools and bikes before pickup day.
- Use a free city bulky pickup for a couple of big items if you have one left.
- Do it in one visit. Each pickup starts at $190.
- Let the crew break down shelving and old furniture so it packs tighter.
City bulky pickup or a garage cleanout?
City programs are built for a few big items at the curb, not a full garage. Here's what a few of them allow.
Use the city for what fits its list. Call a crew for the rest.
- Newport Beach: a set number of free pickups a year, up to five items each; confirm your count with CR&R.
- Irvine: four pickups a year, up to four items each.
- Long Beach: 12 pickups a year, up to 8 large items or 25 bags, bundles or boxes each.
- Laguna Beach: four pickups a year of up to 10 items, with extra pickups at $31.22 each on its FY 2024-25 rate sheet.
