CR&R collects bulky items for homes on the City’s residential contract: a set number of free bulky-item pickups each year, up to five items per collection. City pages give different counts, so confirm yours with CR&R at 949-667-4158 when you book.

On the accepted list: couches, desks, chairs, tables, mattresses, refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, TVs, monitors, printers, scanners, computers and keyboards. Every piece has to be something a two-person crew can manage, and collections past the free allotment cost extra.

Santa Ana Heights isn’t on the City contract: CR&R serves it for the Costa Mesa Sanitary District (949-645-8400).

Drop-offs

Hazardous waste and e-waste

CR&R picks up motor oil, filters, paint, batteries, cleaners, pool chemicals, pesticides and e-waste at your door; give an itemized count when you book. The County’s household hazardous waste centers also take them, Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The CR&R contract includes a free sharps container with a prepaid return box every three months.

Mattresses and refrigerators both go out with the bulky pickup.
Nearby drop-off: WM’s Sunset Environmental Transfer Station, 16122 Construction Circle West, Irvine, takes mattresses from residents free with no limit.
